Privacy Policy

Our principles

SENTINEL is built on three privacy principles:

• No tracking. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party trackers. We do not sell data to advertisers.
• No ads on the free tier. Free users see no advertising of any kind.
• Your data stays with us. Everything you save (monitors, feeds, bookmarks, questions) is stored on our own servers in PostgreSQL. We do not use AWS, Google Cloud, or any third-party data processor.

What we collect

Account data: Your email, name, and password (bcrypt hashed). Optional bio and website if you provide them.

Content you create: The websites you monitor, RSS feeds you add, questions you ask, bookmarks you save, and comments you post.

Server logs: nginx logs your IP address and user agent for security purposes (DDoS protection, rate limiting). These logs rotate automatically and are deleted after 30 days.

Payment info: Handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card. We only get a `customer_id` from Stripe to manage your subscription.

What we don't do

• We do not run analytics scripts on your browser
• We do not share your data with third parties (except Stripe for billing)
• We do not train AI models on your private data
• We do not send marketing emails unless you subscribe
• We do not use cookies for advertising — only one session cookie for login

Third parties we use

• Cloudflare — CDN and DDoS protection. Cloudflare may temporarily store request metadata for security purposes.
• Stripe — Payment processing. Stripe stores your payment details under their own privacy policy.
• Hostinger SMTP — Email delivery for transactional messages (welcome, password reset, weekly digest).

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Hotjar, Segment, Mixpanel, or any other tracking service.

Your rights (GDPR/CCPA)

You can:

• Access — Email us at [email protected] for a full export of your data
• Delete — Email us to delete your account and all associated data within 7 days
• Correct — Update your name, email, bio anytime in your profile
• Unsubscribe — Click the unsubscribe link in any email or visit your profile
